Notes: I will put up a permission post for Jeremy after he is approved if people want him to know about things regarding their characters.  Still, he's a historian, not an information broker, so it's more "this person was mentioned in the newspapers" kind of thing, unless a character was very famous or involved with some notable calamity.

Background: There really isn't much to be said about Jeremy's background.  He grew up in the pre-Impact days, had a tremendous love of learning about and archiving history, and went to college at a young age.  In academic circles he even won fame for himself with a detailed essay describing how governing bodies in that era all used features of a very minor traffic law as the foundation for their governing system.

Unfortunately, Jeremy's status was undermined by his eccentricities.  His loud and boisterous nature, coupled by his preference to not bother with a shirt half the time, eventually made him enough enemies get him thrown out of school.  Jeremy did not let that get him down though and he continued his studies on his own, researching anything he could and submitting papers.  Even if his reputation was tarnished, he knew from history that if you made enough of an impact then any eccentricities you had would be written off.  And at least he hadn't been a dick about it or anything.

Things changed after Second Impact, however.  The Earth was devestated and countless historic landmarks and archives were completely destroyed.  As a man who chronicled the past, Jeremy was plenty aware of how long it could take for civilization to get back on track after widespread calamities just by looking at the Dark Ages.  Thus he dedicated himself to not just studying the past but also preserving and reviving it... and it just so happened that Adventus was starting up...

With a body in excelllent condition and a knowledge of military combat and tactics, it didn't take long for Jeremy to be recognized as one of Lans's generals.  From there Jeremy primarily dedicated himself to using Adventus's resources to refurbish destroyed historic landmarks, like the Hoover Dam.  Still, in the event he had to fight the mighty Hyperion was always battle-ready.  He became close friends with Lucas Damien as well; it was one thing to read accounts of the past and all, but Lucas was over two hundred years old and nothing could trump a first-hand account.  Jeremy admittedly didn't care much for Adventus's goals of making piloted mechs a thing of the past, but he did feel that it deserved to be written down for future generations.  The only reason he stayed with the group for so long was that reason alone, but as time went on he began to regret that decision because of the conduct of his fellow generals and Adventus as a whole.

During all of this, he and Adventus went up against the White Chalice and Jeremy felt a great deal of admiration for them.  Okay, Char had been an idiot during their battle at the Hoover Dam, but otherwise they were a remarkable and good group of people.  Thus when a number of the Chalice's pilots were captured, he knew it was only going to be a matter of time until they were rescued and decided that he would join them after one final "test", as it were.  Their previous battle had ended abruptly and Jeremy wanted a much more decisive battle even if it would end in his defeat.  He did get that defeat though, and he was good and ready to join the Chalice's pilots and help finish off Lans... and that's when a bomb Lans had installed in the Hyperion blew up, destroying the Hyperion and killing Jeremy.

... Or so it appeared.

The Hyperion fortunately had numerous backup barrier generators, one of them located inside of its cockpit.  It took every line of defense Jeremy could muster, but he did succeed in protecting the Hyperion's cockpit from the blast.  Unfortunately he was cut off from the world at that point; presumed dead by the Chalice's pilots.  It took him considerable effort to finally get out of the Hyperion and swim back up to the surface, and from there Jeremy was pretty much at a crossroads about what to do.  RGNK was also alive, and Jeremy ultimately decided to tag along with him not out of any hardcore sense of camraderie, but rather because he wanted to make sure RGNK would never put anyone through what he did to Cheng, along with promising that if he did, Jeremy would break his hands and destroy his hearing.

In the meantime, Jeremy did eventually manage to salvage an Advent and the remains of the Hyperion, and mounted its last barrier inside of the Advent, leaving him well-situated to solve any problems that could come his way as he decided to do what he could to chronicle the new developments going on in the world.

Personality: Jeremy, as it is quite obvious from his interactions with the Chalice, is ham incarnate.  Loud, booming, somewhat melodramatic with his speech patterns, Jeremy is a man of passion.  And his greatest passion is history; not only the perservation of the records we have left, but also recording what could very well be important events in humanity for the sake of prosperity.  As a historian Jeremy refuses to take sides, instead letting future generations decide if something was good or bad; a historian's job is to inform people, not to tell them what to think.  Jeremy doesn't want history written by the winners, and if the winners were still horrible people he'd record all of those horrible things they did.

However, as a man he also lets his principles guide him.  Jeremy greatly respects the importance of history and knowledge, and will fight to protect it.  History itself gives him guidance and helps shape his conduct.  The biggest reason Jeremy wanted to try to help rebuild the world or at least its cultural landmarks was knowing about the Dark Ages and how badly Europe was set back by it.  His familiarity with the Age of Enlightenment and the Renessiance also helped shape his morals as well.

One thing he absolutely hates is to force someone's will through external means.  The issue with Cheng is still a soft spot for Jeremy, and he made a promise both to RGNK and to himself that if the good doctor ever did the same to anyone else he'd wreck his body in response.  Choice is crucial to him; even if the choices are to die or do something you hate, at least you are ultimately making your own decisions and deciding your own future from the limited options available.  For someone being full-blown controlled the same can't be said.  Similar forms of mind control enrage him just as much as this.

Lastly, Jeremy is very determined to see humanity survive and will do whatever he can to make it happen.  History is not about obsessing about the past, but informing and educating the future.  That future is what Jeremy wants to protect no matter what; it's something he'll fight, live, and die for, to say the last.

That said though, Jeremy is not a dark and forboding man.  Eccentric, yes.  But he's still very cheery and optemistic, knowing all to well the holes that humanity has pulled itself out of in the past and the blows we've recovered from.  The world following Second Impact is just one of those cases.

Capabilities and Resources: Jeremy is an extremely fit man, and in fact could be considered an Olympic-level.  A powerful mind had every right to be coupled with a strong body, and Jeremy can easily rattle off the countless great scientists who were also nimble and coordinated.  He knows the general concept of close-quarters combat and fighting with his hands, though Jeremy is a horribly lousy marksman with any type of gun.

But Jeremy is also a talented historian and very, very knowledgeable about the cyclical nature of trends, how things might turn out depending on how similar ideas worked in the past, and may also be aware of certain things regarding player characters on account of acquiring historical records, newspaper clippings, etc.  That said, he is a historian, not an information broker.  He will gather information that appears relevant and important, he is not a snooper and he doesn't dig up dirt on random nobodies.

And as mentioned above, I will put up a permission post regarding Jeremy's awareness of other player character pasts.

Robot Name: Leeda Mk. III (customized Adventus)
Robot Description: In the wake of the Adventus finale and eventually pulling himself free of the lake, Jeremy was somewhat at a loss to do but he knew that he'd need a mech to let him fend for himself, or at the very least go after RGNK if he ever pulled the same shit as before.  There wasn't much left to salvage from the Hyperion when all was said and done, though Jeremy was still able to refurbish one of the machine's barrier generators.   From there he was able to also mount it into an Advent similar to the Type-H Advents that Lans had rolled out at the end of Adventus's lifespan.

The end result is a much smaller machine that follows the same style of combat as the Hyperion; using a barrier for everything.  By generating forcefields the machine can protect itself, attack from varying distances (even "shooting" small spherical barriers from its fingers like bullets), and also reinforce its body to well above what you'd expect.  The Leeda Mk. III has a double-frame, with enough space between the layers of its armor for a barrier to be formed.  This barrier tremendously reduces damage it may take from attacks, effectively making it a very sturdy machine.  The barrier can also be used to refract various forms of light and turn them into lasers, as sceen during the mission LIGHT AND SOUND.

The Leeda uses no other weaponry, Jeremy content to stick with his barrier, though when he's inventive the sky's the limits.
